How to Use Crystal for the Special Event

More and more, companies who want to award their top-performing workers are choosing to present awards made of glass and crystal. There's no one reason for this direction. Companies like the flexibility of glass and crystal. It can be formed into an endless variety of shapes, is less expensive than many other materials, yet still has a clean appearance that's hard to duplicate. It shows the company as "contemporary."

Cut crystal sparkles like diamonds, which is part of what makes receiving such an award so humbling. It looks and feels sophisticated. It pulls every eye in the area toward it. It can be made in colors to add yet another measure to its appearance.

Glass is just as appealing and opulent as crystal for awards. Cut glass has an appearance similar to cut crystal, yet is more durable and less expensive. Optical glass is chosen for awards for its purity and clarity. It most often is presented in a simple geometric shape to play up its purity, like a pyramid, sphere, or obelisk.

With the forward movements in laser engraving, glass and crystal awards can now have complex designs etched into the surface or deep within the object itself. Two- and three-dimensional renderings of logos, objects, and script can be cut into the center of a glass statue, contrasting with its clarity to create a bewitching award for the recipient. Lasers have also advanced the process of cut glass, as they can cut much more intricate patterns into the material to give more facets, shimmer, and dimension.

Crystal and glass haven't totally replaced the traditional award materials of wood, metal and stone, but they are making a strong entry into the field.
