Take the Stress Out of Party Planning By Holding Your Child's Party at a Local Venue

Children's parties don't need to be as meticulously planned as those for adults, but they do require one level of planning that isn't present in most adult parties - non-stop entertainment. Kids get bored easily, and if they don't have something to do, they'll find something to do like pound on your grand piano's keys or play hide and seek behind the Ming vase. If you want to have a celebration party for your kid, but are limited in space, ideas, or patience, the best alternative for you is to rent a venue and hire the catering.

This is not an inexpensive proposition. Even places that were designed for this type of party, like Chuck E. Cheese's for example, can cost $10 to $20 per guest for a birthday celebration package. This usually includes rides and tokens for the games, as well as a certain number of pizzas per party, so it's not a horrible deal. But it moves the party out of your house and into a venue that was designed to constantly entertain children, which is exactly what you want.

There are plenty of additional options for celebrations that don't involve your house. With some creative timing and a little ingenuity, you can create many inexpensive venue options. For starters, plan the party in the middle of the day, after lunch but before dinner. Most of the public places have reduced rates for off-peak activities. Bowling is one option. Let the kids bowl a couple of games each, and provide snacks and soda available for them to munch on, and you've created a great party venue without much expense and no cleanup. Or take your party to a movie at matinee rates, buy them each a small bag of popcorn and a drink, and you've just come up with another great party venue.

There are also some public places that host children's parties and charge little or nothing for the space rental. Planetariums, museums, and aviaries are a few placed to consider They will usually have an area off to the side where food and cake will be served, and the rest of the time the kids are free to explore the center or museum. It can be an exciting and educational experience. Most places like this do require advance notice and reservations, and may limit the party size or activities to stay within the guidelines of the facility.

Finally, if you have a ample back yard and don't want to drag kids all over the city, find a party hosting service and rent some kids games and entertainment for the day. Moonwalks, air slides, water slides, and games are not very costly to rent, and these same companies can also provide catering service if you just don't feel like messing with any of it. This way, you get to enjoy your party alongside your child. Just make sure to have an alternate plan if the weather turns bad.
