Why Organic Food Choices are Better

The organic food trend is rapidly gaining popularity. The idea of farming, selling and buying food that is grown without pesticides and herbicides, and grown locally is becoming more widely accepted.

The flip side is genetically modified food. While such food can be produced on a large scale, it often has less nutritional value than organically grown food. The chief complaint regarding organic food is the inability to produce it on a massive scale in a cost-effective way.

The advantages to purchasing organic food are many, but one clear advantage is that you're guaranteed to have fresh food. Since there are no preservatives added, the organic produce you purchase is likely harvested the day before. That's the attractive thing about organic food. It is cultivated on an as-used basis. Not to mention that there is a savings in transportation costs to the store since everything is grown locally.
